Efforts to environment

Under the Group Environmental Declaration on the Environment, "For All Children in Future to Live in Peace...”, we have established an environmental policy to promote continuous improvement.

With the aim of realizing a sustainable society, we work for the goals of SDGs17 and contribute to the global environment with innovative technologies.
We also value coexistence with the local community. Through CSR activities, we take on the challenge with enhanced sense in order to protect the affluence of “community development allowing people to live on in the future” and “sea and land” together with local residents and customers.

So far, we have express our stance toward the environment through our environmental philosophy, however, being a body within the Group and in order to accelerate our environmental management activities, the three areas of environmental progress and the two core strategies for growth that support them are clearly shown in the Environmental mission statement. Based on this, the Bridgestone Group aims for higher levels of environmental activities in all its businesses.

Of these three areas, "Products and services" and "Operations" are Bridgestone Group businesses activities themselves, with "Community Activities" introduced from a different field. They represent the environmental activities that we promote. And as the two core strategies to support and continually improve the activities of these areas, the Bridgestone Group's environmental management system TEAMS (Total Environmental Advanced Management System) and "Environmental Communication" to positively communicate with all our stakeholders, were established.

Based on the Bridgestone Group's Environmental Mission Statement "to help ensure a healthy environment for current and future generations", we will become one with our business partners and local community to help establish a more sustainable society.

We will continue improving by promoting the implementation of the PDCA cycle whenever problems are detected by our employees.

We will endeavor to rich higher levels and promote improvement based on technical sources to enhance our corporate culture.

We believe that continuous improvement activities are important for the realization of a sustainable society. For reduction of the environmental load and realization of a sustainable society, we acquired the certification of "ISO14001", the international standard for environmental management systems, on December 16, 2005. Based on the ISO14001 standard, we operate an environmental management system and strive to protect the environment at a higher level and continue to make improvements.
